Fairfield County + Canal Winchester Fun!
As a long-time resident of Fairfield County (Lithoplis and Canal Winchester), there's nothing I love more than soaking up the summer sunshine and enjoying everything this area has to offer with my family. From free movie nights in the park to amazing festivals, there's truly something for everyone. Here's a breakdown of upcoming events to keep your calendar booked throughout the summer:
Family Fun:
- Movie Nights in the Park: A variety of Fairfield County cities host free, kid-friendly movie nights throughout the summer. Check your local city calendar for specific dates, times, and locations. (Lancaster, Lithopolis, Canal Winchester)
- Music in the Park: This free concert series happens every third Friday of the month (May-September) at Stradley Park in Canal Winchester. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic basket, or grab dinner from a nearby restaurant. Enjoy live music, family activities, and a fun community atmosphere.
- Lancaster Farmers Market: Every Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm, stroll through the historic streets of downtown Lancaster and browse fresh produce, local crafts, and delicious treats. Perfect for an afternoon outing with the kids!
For the Foodies:
- Canal Winchester Blues & Ribfest (July 26-27, 2024): Mark your calendars for a delicious summer tradition: the Canal Winchester Blues & Ribfest! This two-day street festival explodes with flavor, rain or shine! Held in historic downtown Canal Winchester, the Blues & Ribfest offers a smorgasbord of world-class ribs alongside a variety of other food options to satisfy every craving. Live blues music fills the air while the kids enjoy fun activities. Don't forget to check out the beer & wine garden for guests 21 and over. It's the perfect opportunity to indulge in delicious food, fantastic music, and celebrate summer with the community!
- Lancaster Brewfest (Saturday, August 17, 2024): Sample craft beers from local and regional breweries at this popular Lancaster event. Live music and food vendors add to the fun.

- Canal Winchester Maker's Market: An outdoor artisan market brought to you by the curators of German Village Makers Market! Featuring over 40 local vendors specializing in art, ceramics, home goods, jewelry, baked goods and more! Don't miss it on June 11th and August 11th.

Picktown Palooza (July 11-13): Don't miss Picktown Palooza, a 3-day celebration of the Pickerington community! This family-friendly event offers a variety of fun and entertainment, including carnival rides, over 10 food vendors, a national entertainment lineup, the Freedom 5K race, and a car, truck, and bike show. There's something for everyone at Picktown Palooza! Event location: 300 Opportunity Way, Pickerington, OH 43147.
Lancaster Festival (July 17-27, 2024): Immerse yourself in a 10-day celebration of the arts, music, and community held in Lancaster, Ohio! The Lancaster Festival features a vibrant showcase of performances, exhibits, and more. Enjoy a variety of concerts under the stars, featuring everything from classical and jazz to pop and country. Don't miss the popular Art Walk, a free event that allows you to stroll through downtown Lancaster and explore galleries, studios, and shops. This year's festival even features a performance by the iconic vocal group Wilson Phillips! Baltimore Festival (August 1-3): Don't miss the annual Baltimore Festival, a three-day community celebration! It's the perfect way to celebrate summer with your friends and family in Baltimore, Ohio.
Carroll Community Festival (August 9-10): Immerse yourself in small-town charm at the Carroll Community Festival! This two-day event, held on Friday evening and all day Saturday, offers a variety of activities for the whole family. Shop with local vendors, browse unique crafts, and enjoy the parade. Live music fills the air throughout the weekend, with plenty of delicious food to sample as you listen.
